Snowshoe or cross-country ski along the coast of spectacular Prince William Sound in the remote town of Whittier. This glacial fjord has steep mountains all around, blue/green ocean and wooded rolling hills.
Along the way see Alaska's' wildlife like bears, moose, musk ox, caribou, owls, fox, lynx and more at the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. This non-profit wildlife refuge has a great gift shop too.
Drive through scenic Portage Valley, past World War II installations and through a unique 2 mile long road/railroad one way tunnel.
The sleepy "remote" town of Whittier is as quirky as the scenery is beautiful. We allow time for lunch at a local restaurant and get a chance to meet the locals.
There is a variety of terrain from mellow trails to steep hills with amazing views!
Price: $149 (adult) $109 (children 8-12)
Departs: 10 AM (allow 6 hours)
